I am a compassionate, understanding and reliable individual who takes huge pride in my work. I am passionate about working with young people and their families and I have been privileged to accumulate over 7 years’ of clinical experience, knowledge and expertise across the private, public and charitable sectors. I work with children of all ages and adapt my approach depending on the individual needs of the child and their family.
In terms of qualifications, I possess a Masters Qualification, BABCP accreditation and foundation level AFT accreditation. I am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT). My experience with working with children has also included producing high quality reports for the purpose of educational support in schools and other agencies.
I am experienced in completing psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and families for the purpose of understanding and supporting development needs, psychological wellbeing, relationships, and mental health concerns. I have expertise in working with depression and anxiety disorders such as panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and generalised anxiety disorder. I have extensive experience of working with young people in different settings including; child and adolescent services (CAMHS), CAMHS for children with learning disabilities, specialist services for children with neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD and Tourette’s), inpatient CAMHS eating disorders and working in a hospital paediatric setting specializing in children with physical health difficulties and co-occurring mental health difficulties. I am also interested in working with parents to support parenting difficulties. Using a strengths-based approach I collaboratively create value-based goals to aid motivation. I’ve learnt this is important to overcome barriers to change while building trust, strengthening the therapeutic relationship and fostering empowerment in everyone I work with.
In my spare time I enjoy running, Pilates and reading.
