DR ELLEN O'GORMAN

Clinical Psychologist
Pronouns: She/Her
Locations: Virtual, Harley Street

I am a compassionate, understanding and reliable individual who takes huge pride in my work. I am passionate about working with young people and their families and I have been privileged to accumulate over 7 years’ of clinical experience, knowledge and expertise across the private, public and charitable sectors. I work with children of all ages and adapt my approach depending on the individual needs of the child and their family.

I hold a Master’s qualification, BABCP accreditation, and foundation-level AFT accreditation. I am trained in several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). My experience includes producing high-quality reports to support educational needs in schools and other agencies.

I have extensive experience conducting psychological assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions for children and families. My work focuses on understanding and supporting developmental needs, psychological well-being, relationships, and mental health challenges. I specialise in treating depression and anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD).

My background includes working in a variety of settings such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), CAMHS for children with learning disabilities, specialist neurodevelopmental services for ADHD, ASD, and Tourette’s, inpatient CAMHS for eating disorders, and hospital paediatric settings for children with physical and co-occurring mental health difficulties. I am also passionate about supporting parents with parenting challenges.

Using a strengths-based approach, I work collaboratively with individuals and families to develop value-based goals that enhance motivation, overcome barriers to change, and foster empowerment. I believe this approach strengthens the therapeutic relationship and builds trust.

In my spare time, I enjoy running, Pilates, and reading.
